Vanishing Act is a closing ceremony and a warm goodbye. In these Polaroids, my collaborator Phoebe Hiltermann and I capture crude shadows of our former selves by performing as ghosts in the spaces we used to inhabit. We acknowledge the grief and anxiety at leaving behind a home, document the places that held our bodies, and celebrate the life and death of the self in these spaces.
